Division Chief Ethan Millard started his career in the fire service in 1997 when he embarked on his training at the Northern Nevada Fire and Rescue Academy in Reno, Nevada. He earned an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Technology in 1998. He then attended paramedic school at Westark College. In 2000, he graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Paramedic.
Chief Millard joined the Fort Smith Fire Department in July 2000 and attended training at the Arkansas Fire Academy. Chief Millard has served in numerous specialized capacities to include the HAZMAT Team, Dive Team, Swiftwater Rescue Team, and as a tactical medic on the Fort Smith Police Department SWAT Team. Additionally he served as a Fire TAC instructor and a Fire and EMS Instructor. He received a Bachelor's degree in Applied Science from the University of Arkansas Fort Smith in 2005
Chief Millard was promoted to the position of Division Chief over Operations in May 2023. In this role, he oversees critical aspects of fire service operations, ensuring effective emergency response, and promoting the highest standards of professionalism in the fire service.
