Transportation issues should not prevent a US citizen from voting; yet, they are stated as a significant or minor
cause for not voting. FST is making every attempt to make the trip to and from the polls the least stressful aspect of the day for individuals who are waiting to cast their ballot in person on Election Day.
“Fort Smith Transit wants to be a part of the solution for the transportation barrier that many of our citizens have and make it easier for them to reach the polls and cast their ballots this election,” said Fort Smith Transit Civil Rights Officer Gregory A. Carthon. “We aim to make voting simple and available to everyone who depends on Fort Smith Transit because we believe that democracy functions best when everyone participates and has a voice.”
