Our mission is to provide safe, efficient, affordable, prompt, friendly, professional, and clean public transportation to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Fort Smith Transit provides public transportation to area residents within the city limits of Fort Smith. Our organization consists of two primary services and a host of supporting services. Whether it’s the fixed route network or more personal demand response (curb-to-curb) service you need, our system can get you there safely and efficiently. Our staff is well trained and can assist you with understanding the routes, selecting the best travel times, purchasing tickets or passes, or help you learn to navigate your mobility device onto a vehicle lift or inside a bus. There are no qualifications or criteria needed to use our fixed route public transportation services. The system serves all passengers equally. Some limitations have been placed on the demand response (curb-to-curb) services in order to comply with federal regulations.
